Apprentice Iverlesk,
You have disrupted this council with your accusations. You have done everything possible to thwart the will of the Commander appointed by their majesties to win this war. You have threatened, manipulated, schemed and twisted word and deed to suit your needs.
This final accusation that Mordecai Cormaeril is a Bhaalist is intolerable. After consultation with Count Immmerdusk you are charged with, and found guilty, of Religious Harassment. You are fined 5000 coin. In consideration of previous service, support expressed your master and the House of Mossmere, you will remain on the council to serve the city and their interests.
Dictated not written,
Dame Sage Drakesbane
Royal Advisor -
Certainly Dame Drakesbane
Ash may come to the Mossmere Estate to collect the fine
Adrian
-
You misunderstand,
You are the one charged. You are the one found guilty. You will behave suitably contrite and report to The Crown to personally deliver the fine. Additionally, as I remain concerned, you write a letter to Cormaeril apologizing and seek to establish a less hostile relationship. Noblebloods squabbling like this is unseemly. I seek not humiliation on you therefore will not order these files made available to the entire council but you will understand you are here to advise, consult and collaborate to win this war and bring peace to the Kingdom.

Ser Cormaeril
I wish to apologise for my unbecoming behaviour towards you and slights towards your honour.
I humbly ask that we put this matter behind us and you lift your houses shunning of me so we can move forward to ensure victory in the war.
I also ask you consider this matter my behaviour alone and in no way connected to the Houses of Iverlesk and Mossmere.

Dame Drakesbane
Just to keep you informed on matters, I gave him an inch and he wanted a mile
@Seter said in Letter: Ser Mordecai Cormaeril:
Apprentice,
While I am sure it has taken you a great deal of willpower to pen this missive to me, which I appreciate, I do not believe it is enough.
Should our conflict been kept between us in closed quarters, I would have gladly accepted the olive branch you now extend to me. But our conflict was not kept between us.I was informed that you continued, relentlessly, to drag my name and reputation through the mud and I even hear some reports from a reliable sources that you were spreading lies that I would have Skull Volkov framed for something he did not do, simply to sate some imaginary ego - Which is far from the truth. You continued to claim that I shunned you simply because you disagreed with me on matters of the Council, which is also further from the truth. I gave you every ounce of respect despite that, until the day I learned you are spreading spiteful rumors about me and my House.
If you wish me to accept your olive branch and for me to approve anyone of House Cormaeril working with you directly, then you will release a formal public apology admitting to your slights against myself and House Cormaeril in person. Vowing in that public statement, by the name of the Divine Right and also on your own honour, to cease in the interest of the realm and its people
I will be accepting nothing less than this.
Signed,
Mordecai of House Cormaeril
Head of House Chapter in the region of Arabel
Commander of the Council of Twelve Peers
I have told him in a respectful manner why this will not be happening, And I personally consider the matter closed and wish to co-operate for the good of the realm
@V-Rage said in Letter: Ser Mordecai Cormaeril:
Ser Cormaeril
I am afraid that will not be happening. Whilst I am willing to co-operate with you for the good of the realm I will not be subservient to you in all matters.
Whilst you are the commander of the council and have control there, In other matters we are equals
I have ignored much greater slights from you and your Steward for the sake of co-operation
In Deadwell when your leadership was challenged you called me a "Peasant"
When you first shunned me, I was not informed of this had you perhaps told me of my slight I would have apologised However when I came to aid you recover Cataclysm you called me a "Wizardling"
I tolerated this for the good of the realm
However despite being made aware of House Mossmere not supporting the Arcane Guild, Your Steward Rosa performed a gross breach of protocol and recruited a member in the estate, To make matters worse I was out at the time with Meroigrin and only learnt of this when I returned to the estate and Gallica welcomed Selene to the Guild
I let it slide for a time but things reached a breaking point. Your Steward was made aware of her slight and asked to adress this with debate or duel, She ignored this. I suggested she could make it right by asking you to lift the Shunning, She did not even relay this to you and instead wrote to House Mossmere apologising
To smooth things over I suggested to Dwight we accept this if Tanya be allowed to work on the golem as a private contract to show co-operation for the good of the realm
I have now reached out and apologised and offered co-operation
I ask for the sake of co-operation you consider the matter closed as is , I am being most reasonable
Adrian of House Iverlesk, Apprentice to Dwight Mossmere
I will co-operate with him on the Council for good of the realm and defer to his command, I will not however let him dictate how I act in other matters.
I once again apologise for the issues caused and will work to see this war resolved with minimal casualties as well as continue the investigation

You didn't hear from me but the Dame is so furious with all this I'd sleep with one eye open.

Let us relook at the Volkov situation
We know Phillipe of the Trancendence made the posters, He openly claims there was a leak on the council.
We know Volkov at the time had only explictly told his faith to a few people, Gallica included as he told her when he joined her Arcane Guild to see if it would be an issue to him joining to which he says she assured him it wouldn't be.
Whilst not certain we have good grounds to believe Ash and Finwick are the same individual.
On the day of the arrest Finwick openly called Gallica to the manticore, However we do not know for certain if she went or not but as the information came from the council and Gallica is one of the only ones who knew for sure it is likely.
The information then must have made its way to Phillipe who made the posters and Ash jumped on it to make a claim of treason.
Volkov went to answer the charge willingly and walked into the barracks freely, Now Volkov is not a stupid man, I therefore find it unlikely he would be stupid enough to walk into a place he was almost certainly going to be searched with damning documents.
To try and gain some power to his claims Ash asked me to search Volkov, Naturally I found the documents and quietly asked Volkov what was going on, He claims they were planted and forged so I looked them over.
Ash however seemed to know I would find me something and demanded them, I complied but in my brief look of them I can confirm they are not in Volkovs writing.
I brought my concerns up with Count Immerdusk who dismissed them offhand.
After Volkovs escape Ash took me back to the office and tried extorting me, saying he could be a good ally and would vote for my plan if I agreed with his ascertation was correct and insinuated it would look like I was supporting a potential traitor if I didnt.
I agreed and he said if he saw the agreement in the morning he would vote for my plan.
I wrote files were found but Volkovs guilt must be ascertained at trial, I notified Dame Drakesbane of my concerns and was told matters of law were for the Crown Guard
We know that since the arrest Ash did not vote as he said to me he would and tried everything to stall the vote, outright refusing to vote and asking Ser Cormaeril for support.
We also know that Ser Cormaeril cares deeply for his honour, Shunning me for slights against his honour.
However on an operation against the Lycan Wraithhowl the halfling priestess Meroigrin told Crownsguard Rauf there was a thief in the Crownguard and to watch out.
I asked her after what occured and she told me that Ash had extorted something from Tanya
I spoke with Tanya and she confirmed that Ash had taken a coin depicting a lake of steam from her under duress, asking for it whilst reaching for his blade and shackles, Whilst not contraband she gave it over to avoid causing issues.
I reported this to Ser Cormaeril and suggested he call Tanya to confirm it to him in person which she did, He however said it was a minor overstep and not worth reporting to Sir Everduke as little would come from it.
Considering Tanya is now his retainer and this could be seen as an attack on his men and thus him and he cares very much for his image I find it odd he would let this slide.
This whilst we cannot confirm it yet for certain, It is likely from their actions that seem to support each other they are in some manner of agreement.
It would be most embarrasing for the Crown Guard if it came out at trial Crown Guard used forged evidence to religiously harrass a mercenary operating under our Kings Orders and such was done to try and tamper with a legitimate council vote and the Skulls naturally would have a strong case for some form of restitution
Adrian
-
I will be blunt.
Once Volkov is found innocent of the allegations made by the odious Hin peasant, I will be calling for reparations to be made by the Crown Guard.

Whilst unorthodox we could perhaps approach Courtier Darendaal and bring our suspicions on Ash to her for internal investigation with the condition that if she believes there is merit to it, select councillors such as myself and yourself Daal be permitted to question him for the truth and the trial cancelled quietly.
Such would avoid another embarrasing stain on the Crownguards image such as the drunken lout Farmerson and they would owe House Mossmere and the Skulls a favour or two no doubt.
What are your thoughts on this Daal?
Adrian
-
I am furious at Volkovs verdict, He should never have been found guilty in the first place
It is plain to see yet this halfling is corrupt and yet facts were ignored to cover things up
The miscreant thought he could bar me from the trial unless I paid my fine issued by Count Immedusk directly to him, No doubt so he could intimidate me
I informed him that whilst I appreciated Count Immerdusks offer of protection and respect Count Immerdusk I do not respect Ash personally due to his conduct and would decline
@ARampantBull said in Letter to Adrian:
Disgusting accusations.
I suggest you come and pay your fines before the trial - or I will petition to have you disallowed entry. I would do so anyway but I look forward to you making a fool of yourself when Volkov is found guilty.
I await your visit.
Ash
I filed a formal complaint with Sir Everduke yet it was too late it seems
@Hangman said in Letter: Sir Everduke:
Adrian,
Thank you for your letter. I am inclined to let the matter of the trial play out at court.
I thank you for your extended information pertaining to the conduct of Mister Swiftfoot. This will be investigated internally. However, I will note the letters forwarded do not overtly suggest extortion, however his threat to bar you from access to the trial is of course unfounded and will not be actioned.
Yours respectfully,
Sir Everduke.I shall be sending a formal request for Ash to appear at House Mossmere to answer for his gross slights against House Mossmeres honour and sending a formal complaint to Courtier Darendaal as she seeks an alliance with House Mossmere
That a Crown Guard representing an esteemed noble such as Count Immerdusk could behave in such a manner is most unbecoming

It is time to look once again at the sabotage.
I met Francesca Vandern earlier at the Mossmere Estate to try and convince her to tell us what really occurred as her behaviour was odd, I pointed out to her that she hates Glendur for raising her from the dead with the power of the Lady leaving her marked and owing the Lady a debt.
Despite her hatred for him she seems to often work with him even though she recoils near him.
She seemed ready to divulge something yet she suddenly lost focus and looked around the room. I believe it to be a magical compulsion of some kind
She is controlled by someone using this mark, I know Glendur also has a pact with the Lady but don't think one pact holder could control another, Our King favours the Lady and he supported the plan to restore the Eastern Marches.
Barra, What can you share upon the Lady, I do not expect you to betray your oaths yet I cannot work to undo this compulsion without more information.
Adrian
-
Apprentice, On the topic of The Lady, I can only say there is reason for The Lady to be bound to the Ward at the Tethgard ruins.
- Barra
-
Barra.
I know the reason she's bound there.
The Sins of Tethgard.
I know some of her crimes as well.
What I need to know is the sort of powers someone who has a pact with her may have is there nothing you can tell me at all?
Adrian
-
I have said all I can on this subject. Sorry if that is not enough for you. I have no answers for what you are asking.
- Barra

I understand.
I suppose Archer will need to be captured before this assualt and questioned thoroughly.
I doubt he will talk willingly though.

Now back to Ser Cormaeril
I enclose a letter from him sent after I reached out to make amends
@Seter said in Letter: Ser Mordecai Cormaeril:
Apprentice,
I would like to make something abundantly clear - We are not equal in any way.
While you are a blueblood son of a minor household, I am the heir apparent to the ancestral home of House Cormaeril in Immersea and the head of the branch within Arabel. House Cormaeril, needless I to remind you, is a house with great influence that far exceeds that of House Iverlesk or even House Mossmere, your patrons. So no, Apprentice, we are by no means equal. As your better, in the eyes of the Divine Right, I indeed must find myself rising above petty squabbles for the betterment of the realm. I will lift the ban from my household's ability to work directly with you and give you the benefit of the doubt. But this comes with a final warning, Apprentice, and you will do well to heed it.
If I so much as suspect you are doing anything other than serving this realm to the best of your abilities, especially slighting my honour yet again or harassing any of my household, I will not be so forgiving and will take this as a slight against the whole of House Cormaeril by the entirety of House Iverlesk.
Any minor slight will demand that I seek my honour defended either by the public apology I graciously spared you from writing or a duel of honour.
Signed,
Mordecai of House Cormaeril
Head of House Chapter in the region of Arabel
Commander of the Council of Twelve Peers
I know I was wrong in openly challenging him over his command, Yet it is this attitude from him why several councillors have concerns about his command
He is so fuelled by ego that he would abandon the war of our majesties and bring forces from Cormyr to attack another noble house at any slight, Which to him is challenging his authority in any form, he demands mindless obdience and does not respect those under him if they even give advice he does not like.
This is clear from his actions towards his former Senior Retainer Vandern, Who he sidegraded to Sentinel because she would give him actual advice and made Gallica his steward who just obeys.
Adrian
-
Adrian,
You have been warned and I wished to spare you and House Mossmere embarrassment for actions, though well intentioned, have been the cause of great concern. Commander Cormaeril has the full support of the Crown to prosecute this war to a swift conclusion.
This open, petulant attitude toward your superior is unseemly and runs contrary to the requirements of your station. I will leave this in the capable hands of the commander to decide how to proceed.

Twelve Council Royal Advisor@Seter You now have access to this file.

Dame Drakesbane
I am not trying to sabotage the war, In fact I have plans to bring it to a swift conclusion.
I was discussing them with Skull Dall this morning, As we know it is likely the Butler is in fact an ancient undead of some variety yet he has been granted pardon for securing the Skulls contract for our esteemed majesties.
I asked if they had a way to contact the Butler as due to his age and knowledge he may know of secret ways into Tilverton long forgotten, From there a team could use them to get in and assasinate Issacson, Or perhaps rescue loyal nobles
Once Dall confirmed for me if the Skulls could contact The Butler I would have shared the plans with the council for discussion
We could then sue Obyn for peace, He will live but lose his title, Granted to his son who will be stewarded by Talantra until he comes of age, Obyn could serve our esteemed majesty as head of the Misrim trade network after of cause paying suitable reperations to the royal coffers
I also ask you to note it is me who has been announcing what the Council is doing and soliciting adventurers aid
@V-Rage said in Announcements by the Council of Twelve Peers:
Hear ye ,Hear ye
The Council is dilligently working on Arcane Weapons of War to defeat the fiendish forces of Issacson
A prototype is to be tested soon under the watchful oversight of the arcane experts of House Mossmere and if effective will go into full production
We are also working on a war golem, to be forged by the Master smith of Tempus and Senior Retainer of House Cormaeril Tanya Vorrune.
Should you wish to know more you are encouraged to seek out a councillor to learn more and recieve guidance on how to assist.

As I stated, Apprentice Iverlesk;
I will enquire if we have a way to contact this Butler.
As to anything else concerning who or what he is, all we currently have is conjecture. I am loathe to form plans to build upon unstable foundations.
I am working on it, along with the details of Project Fear.

Slingdyke -
Of course Skull Dall, But as i mentioned
I find this pertinent information
The Butler, for his part, is an unknown. Records seem to indicate he is the son of a minor noble, but the Heralds cannot find a date of birth or the official documents of such a claim- and we've been extra thorough in this investigation, even containing the Palace in Suzail for records of this, and we've come up with nothing. Either the King to the south is purposefully obfuscating, or he never existed in the first place. His knowledge and submitted scholarly articles, are, as I quote a recent scholar,
"It's as if he lived through the events as an observer, and not one studying the diaries and letters of the individuals who lived through them."
Draw what conclusions from it that you wish, but it was his word that granted us the Obsidian Skulls for this army- and for this, he will possess a full pardon of any crimes or misdeeds he partook in during Obyn's Service.
If he lived through events he would be ancient, therefore likely some form of undead or other immortal creature.
Therefore he might have relevant knowledge on any forgotten ways into Tilverton from its past that could be used
It merits further investigation to see if it can aid the war efforts
