After a time in which the ethical merits of Necromancy has been hotly debated, Sir Malcolm DeSchurr took a defiant stand in the courtroom today, personally executing the famed Necromancer Seren with a deadly blow.

In a hearing in which both Houses Delzuld and Braerwinter were heavily fined for gross negligence, Sir DeSchurr made it clear a zero tolerance policy would be exercised on the animation of the dead.

This is to take place Saturday evening.

I have received a handful of questions to be answered on the day, but please do keep sending them in and I'll look to address them.

The Events function in our Discord channel has been set, same as before. Hopefully there's a good attendance and people get as much out of it as the first Town Hall.

Hello CoA!

I will be hosting the next Town Hall meeting on Saturday, 22nd February, with the exact time to be confirmed. This session will focus on Story, where we are, where we're headed, and the broader direction of the server, along with an update on the progress of Chapter 3.

This will be the main update, followed by a Q&A session for any questions directed at the DM Team. I encourage all players to PM me on Discord or the Forums with any questions you'd like us to address on the day. These can by anonymous if preferred.

At the end of the talk, you'll have the chance to ask questions or share any thoughts that have come up during the discussion.

Whispers from high society suggest that the Summerstar family has listed their Historic District estate for sale. Rumours spread swiftly, stirring speculation among the social elite and, now, even the common folk that the noble house is preparing to depart. No purchasers are known at this time.

The Summerstar family themselves have thus far remained tip-lipped on the rumours.

Per discussion in Discord this morning, his standing in the HoA ought to afford some legal protection, which is all I was interested in achieving out of official clergy - a mechanic to protect him from being ostracised from the playerbase and left in the wilderness.

I agree, he hasn’t been particularly religious in the way he’s gone about it. I’d view it as the church approaching him about representing their interests, as so few are prepared to champion such a controversial belief. It might be a bit of a stretch, but I view it more as insulation to help the character.

People have cried out for villain support, this is the sort of thing we should be doing more of. It helps Seren stay relevant and engaged with the playerbase, gives everyone an excuse not to kill him outright, and let the story evolve.

As we continue to develop the next Chapter of CoA and seek to breathe life into the current story, we’d like to invite anyone interested in contributing to the server as a DM to submit a "Statement of Intent."

What is a Statement of Intent?
A Statement of Intent is a brief outline indicating your interest in becoming a DM on CoA. Please only submit one if you have the time and commitment to dedicate to the server.

In your statement, we’d like you to:

1. Share a plot or two you’d like to run. This doesn’t need to be an essay, just enough to give us a general sense of your ideas.
2. Describe what you’d like to focus on outside of running events. For example, any particular areas you’d want to focus on, ideas you’d like to implement, or aspects of the server you’d like to support as a DM.

Please note that we’re currently seeking additions to the DM Team specifically, meaning we’re looking for people to be active in game and run events. Building and scripting responsibilities are already well in hand and should not form the main focus of your statement. That said, if you have any relevant proficiencies or experience with running, maintaining, or developing an NWN server, feel free to include a quick note about it.

You can submit your Statement in a Forum PM or private Discord message to a Team Lead of your choice, who will then file it in the appropriate forum.

Once you’ve submitted your Statement of Intent, please refrain from following up on its status, whether it’s being reviewed, discussed, or voted on. These statements are primarily for informational purposes and may not be acted upon immediately. If you don’t hear back after submitting, don’t be discouraged, this will be the case for most submissions. Your statement will remain on record for future consideration as openings arise.
