Add fence to Rats quest
-
@sharkinajar No other quest has a barricade at the door. Not sure this one needs it either.
-
@echo perhaps fallen tables or the sort you clamber across. It's only to prevent the quest bugging out from people fleeing, which seems to be incredibly common.
-
I do often see skinnable corpses outside the quest area and wounded NPCs.
It does seem rats follow people out a lot
-
What'd be cool is, if we fixed the bug causing the quest to be busted if that happens.
-
Make a little corridor before you reach the rat area, solved :)
-
@puffy All that will do is create a buffer before the rat attack, that is not the problem, the problem is PC fleeing the rats out the door and the rats follow them and then die by the NPCs hands breaking the quest. The core of the problem is PCs running away after engaging combat and leading the rats out the door.
-
Currently if there is some distance between the transition and the monsters, the monsters wont follow. However, due to tight quarters the monsters will directly follow the PCs. Hence why most other quests dont have this issue. Also, closing a door on the rats via the corridor, can save fleeing PCs :)
-
@sharkinajar is the potion rat quest? If so, i can add a simple fix.
-
@spiffymeister rat pot quest yeah

@puffy said in Add fence to Rats quest:

I did this already.
-
@echo yep and this didn't fix the issue!
-
Added a fix for next reset.
-
Entire door is now blocked? I've never had any problems on this quest with the various characters. Isn't running away from spawns and letting them attack NPCs against the rules anyhow?
-
@full-cup you say that, but it happens almost every single reset...
-
So now players cannot get past this barricade into the quest area. I'll edit the area, again, and remove the barricade.
-
@echo Would it be possible to make the barricade indestructible and put a easy jump transition to pass over it?
-
@toportime yeah this.
-
It was just a clickable to pass the barricade and it's worked fine the last few times I've done the quest
-
I forgot to put a variable on the transition so it doesn’t get destroyed by the clean up script “oops”
-
That should only destroy it if it's got an inventory @SpiffyMeister
It's more likely the players are correct, it's not set to plot, and is being beaten down by players who clicked it and it didn't quite run the jump the first time, so, inevitably, as with all things that don't do anything immediately, they attacked it.
It is only proper.
So, just set it to plot.
