Whereas Lirien is grateful for what the Justiciars taught her: discipline, vigilance, and the weight of responsibility,
her devotion to Tymora clarified into something vocational. She feels called to serve fully as a priestess of luck and courage, not as an extension of Helms structured vigilance.She wants to join the Gilded Venture because they embody initiative, calculated risk, exploration, and decisive action. She wants to pursue relic recovery, divine investigation, and unexplained phenomena without factional politics constraining her purpose. The Venture provides opportunity to walk boldly into uncertainty, to seek lost artifacts, uncover divine threads, and act where others hesitate.
Within the Venture, she wants to grow in three ways. As a relic steward, ensuring divine artifacts are recovered, understood, and safeguarded properly. As a divine investigator, pursuing lingering mysteries tied to faith, or corruption. And as a spiritual presence, embodying Tymora's joy, courage, and defiance of fear within a bold organization.
Long term, she hopes to become a recognized spiritual authority within the Tymoran church. Not with rivalry or politics (though we know that's unavoidable), but with earned wisdom, conviction, and steady service.

@INOWANNA No until she shows she can do something other than make sendings and send forum posts to NPCs. I'd like to see concrete and specific things they will do in game from them.

I think she's typically had about 2 hours of playtime a week up until just recently, so I didn't really expect to see her doing much in the justiciars either. Similar to Orin in that regard.She seems to have her mind in the right direction though.

Could maybe have Evander give her a trial to tempt her, disguised as a test to see if she's gilded venture material. Just to see if she'll do something cool with a tricky situation. Since that's what we're looking to see if she'll do?

@INOWANNA I'm just looking for the usual stuff -- make an effort to actually involve people in the story/faction etc.
They just need to do some specific Gilded Venture stuff.

As we are eliminating rank 0 and making rank 1 the entry point we should have the submission represent apps in the same way we do for subraces. Highlight the fun things they'll do IG same way we ask someone to become a tiefling.

I wouldn't be asking players to write those thouhg, unless they want it on creation - if they are organically joining, then the a DM can write out a few thing they do/have done/are going to do.
Or if a player asks a DM "can I join?" Then the player can write "I'll do X and Y"
But not a whole "app" plz

@Zool I agree, it can be an app or a DM listing out what specific things they'll do. But we really have to get out of throwing warm bodies into rewards and remember we use the rewards to improve the server. Don't care how we find out the information, as long as we get it.

When Purple_Diamond goes to the faction next and asks. Can just have the npc ask them what they're hoping to accomplish, and maybe give them a bit of homework prior to joining. Should be good.
PD already has a few things she wants to do listed up.

@INOWANNA Sure, if you prefer to handle it that way. I don't care how the information gets to us, we just should have it so when they don't do that - we can kick them out or explain why they never get promoted.

I haven't able to catch Lirien in game since. Most of the players in the faction haven't either.
Sent the player a pm on discord to see if they're still around. Not sure if she just plays during Early morning timezones or something.

@INOWANNA Her play time is intermittent depending on the day (compared to regular times that just off from others)

Either way, I don't want to punish someone for having a life outside of coa.
Will just wait for her to find the time to play, and resume with the challenge from the guildmaster to do some stuff in order to get accepted, rather than vote no.

Got to rp with her in game via Evander, gave her more tangible responsibilities and goals.
She's been instructed to come up with some tasks to promote other adventurers into action, and use the deposit box's gold to motivate people to get it done.
But since she got a recommendation from every faction member, I added her in.
