    • RE: Race for the Azure Diamonds: Faith, Fire, Frost, Fortune

      Last night we announced the results of this competition where Zerelstria had received the most amount of Azure Diamonds over the month long span. Starting last night via IG event and over the coming few weeks you will start to see the impact of this choice play out IG.

      A few things of note that the DM team wants to share with players.

      1. Just because your side didn't "win", does not mean your effort goes to waste. This was not an all or nothing competition, for players that made an effort supporting other causes and made things fun for other players your efforts won't go to waste. We want to remind everyone that this is a storytelling avenue, we want you to feel that your efforts can have an impact on the server around you.

      2. The spawning of Azure Diamonds will be paused for the short term, we want to use this time to collect feedback and improve the system for the next time around. We will bring this system back in a few weeks, but we want to make sure we continue to improve it.

      3. Please share feedback with the team, what did you like about the system? Is it too long? To few diamonds spawning? Didn't like the options of results where you could donate diamonds? If you could create your ideal faction to submit your diamonds what reward would YOU like to see?

    • RE: The Dungeon Master cooking pot (Our new blog!)

      Hi CoA community, the DM team has been working hard to make CoA the best place it can possibly be. We wanted to share an update on the work that has been done over the past few months. I believe that the server is in a great place where we are working hard to implement features that players and DMs have been asking for and putting the server in the right direction for the future.

      Player Feedback
      A survey was done over the past few months to collect input from active and inactive players, we want to make sure that what players want and DMs are working on are aligned. You can see the results of the survey here: https://forums.cityofarabel.com/topic/69278/2025-player-survey-results/13

      Content Bloat
      You may have noticed over the past few months some areas being revamped/rebuilt/deleted. We wanted to reduce the distance to go from point A to point B. Now quests are closer together in different areas so when you go to different parts of the server things are more compact and easier to move around. We want players to be able to reach all different corners of the server from the hub in just a few areas

      Impact on the Server
      Our new Pyre system allows players to have an impact on the server. On a monthly basis players have a prestige target in the pyre. After hitting this target it revealed the new Rhimebound city with fun new things to explore, watch out if you don't hit the target there may be negative impacts on the environment as well!

      Epic Bounty Creatures
      Players wanted to have a system where random generated bounty creatures are spawned somewhere in the server, bring a party to go out to fight these dangerous beasts. In the coming weeks more epic bounty creatures will spawn with new rewards and risks.

      Azure Diamond caches
      Our new Azure Diamond monthly trial system, See here: Azure Diamonds Players have the chance to collect diamonds hidden around the server and put it towards a cause that is important to their character.

      Spell Changes
      We want to keep things fresh and ensure players have a reason to use other spells, we have made quite some changes to some underused spells. Feel free to make suggestions here see here underwhelming spells

      Quest changes
      Players have asked to bring back old quests from V4. We have begun to start implementing some fan favourites like Swamp Barbarians! We plan to continue to bring back some of these quests and adapt them to the new CoA. Current quests have been revamped to keep them fresh and introducing new puzzles and optional challenges for those who want a bit more!

      End game xp
      Any additional experience gained above the XP cap will be converted to prestige points. This way you still gain benefits when you are above the xp cap!

      Looking to the future:
      New dungeons, new bounty creatures, new prestige items and more quests! We have several projects that are in the works that keep pushing the server in the right direction.       Either there are multiples overlapped or they trigger twice, having seen the screenshots they were getting hit with multiple in one round.

      Fire giants should have fire immunity and cold vulnerability

      Fire Giant Chieftain - Needs cold vulnerability
      Fire Giant Glaive - Needs cold vulnerability
      Fire Giant Shaman - Needs immunity and vulnerability
