Following the new structure, I suppose I should ping @Voss_ @Voss

The Umberlee trident is being sold from most PC shops atm, and its a martial weapon 1d8 x 2 with 1d4 cold and 1d4 sonic. Making it effectively have the same damage as a silver Greatsword, except that its one handed, so you can carry a shield.

I figured id bug report it, so you lot can decide whether its too strong or imbalanced?

Yea, except it weighs more than a spear and does only x2 dmg on crits afaik, with a very shit crit range.

The difference is that it’s one handed, not two. So you can use it with a shield.

@O-louth Will differ to Voss on it, maybe a gentle nerf of replacing the 1d4 with +2 to both elements, guaranteed 4 dmg versus potentially an extra 8?

As far as I know, only Cojak‘s Umberlee priest has been using one so far. Cori also has not sold one yet in her shop. It might be pretty good… but I would consider that it’s clearly a weapon of Umberlee, too.

I felt I had to say something. But whatever the solution is I don’t mind. Because as @EyeOfGruumsh wrote, no one uses them.

@O-louth I discussed trident stats in general in another thread. It's not OP because of the terrible base stats and you can't get crafted tridents at all.

The Trident in question is martial admittedly, but is equal in damage to an Iron morningstar with permanent, low level Flame weapon on it.
                    1d8+1d4+1d4 x 2.

Anyhow, it felt like it needed to be reported, but since no one is using it, it might not be top priority.

I do think an alignment restriction would be a good idea on it though. Limited to chaotic, neutral and evil alignments so lawful and good people can't use it. It is an artifact of Umberlee after all!
