Increase Monk base HP

I find it bizarre that monks are one of the few classes absolutely dedicated to melee, but have had their HD reduced to a d6. They were already squishy before that change, and this seems like it's unnecessarily stepping on an already subpar choice (in the current scheme of things).
Raise them back to a d8? d10?

This would be something that would be part of the entire rebalance if the class we want to do but haven't gotten around to.

They're not a d6, but a d8 class using the horrible average HP system, something we should not get into here. That explains their abysmal hp.

@CitizenBane they're listed as d6 in the mechanics changes. Or am I misunderstanding it?

They should have 6 hp per level, or is it only 4?

Monks are a d8 class. They should be getting 6 hp per level. At some point there is a class rework planned for them, much like was done for Rogue and Fighter recently and previously the Bard Song and Barbarian Rage.

Everyone calm down. It is not 4 hp. There was an error on the forum which has been changed.
Hit Points is worked out on an dice average and adjusted to balance out other class perks. Each level a class will be given a set point of HP. The HP average for each class is listed below:
d12- 10hp - Barbarian (Dwarven Defender)
d10- 8hp - Fighter, (Black Guard, Divine Champion, Purple Dragon Knight, Weapon Master)
d10- 7hp - Paladin
d8- 6hp - Ranger, Cleric, Druid, Monk (Arcane Archer, Shadowdancer, Shifter)
d6- 4 hp - Bard, Rogue (Assassin, Harper Scout, Pale Master, Red Dragon Dicipline)
d4- 3hp - Sorcerer, Wizard -

Yeah. Monk are pretty awful right now. Something we will eventually address.

Monks are probably THE hardest class to balance. They're either shit or godly powerful. So... there's that

If i am to be totally honest, monks and druid is where my expertise is sadly, quite lacking. I just know that the EfU team hasn't been able to find a sweet spot with monks and they're really good at it..... so...... Monks are really hard to balance :/

So it's your fault. :astonished_face: Most of what I learned about Mechanics was at your finishing school. Those classes are not my strength either.
