    • Feedback - new alchemy changes

My personal feedback on the alchemy changes. They seem kind of overboard now. The ingredient numbers are extreme. I believe it looked like 5 essences of power for one bulls strength potion, which means 5 cranberry juices, which means like 40 cranberries for one potion. 5 essences for one is kind of extreme imo. I also tried the barkskin potions, and ended up getting 4 potions for 20 birch barks, in addition to 20 gem dusts and 10 hazelnut oils.

In addition to that, the thing with the gem dust before, there is now the added ingredients which are more of the same problem - basically more gem dusts. The addition of some ingredients seems to just be similar to adding more gem dusts. There were gem dusts available in the market before, and now alchemy requires alchemical reagents, which to me seemed to be the gem dusts before. But now they need both. My suggestion would be to get rid of the gem dusts, as the alchemical reagents are stackable and the crates have been made. That would make it less cumbersome for alchemists getting ingredients at the stores. But right now, gem dusts and alchemical reagents seem to be the same thing, but also are both needed. Those two things being needed at the same time seems extreme.

It seems to be the case that alchemy might have been too quick before, but this change made alchemy completely inefficient and extreme. I'd rather get prestige points for barkskins now, and I'd rather just make pies for bulls strength and cats grace now, rather than make both when I can. That is a lot of cranberries, and a lot of birch barks for just that few amount of potions.

Just my feedback from a quick making of some potions and looking over bulls strength and cats grace ingredient list now. The number of essences per potion seems to need an edit. The gem dusts seem to just add to the ingrendients list now that there are reagents, which are stackable. I'm fine with grape juice and hazelnut oil, as some of it before was dependent on cooking, but cooking and gem dusts with reagents seems to be quite cumbersome. I'd like - essences, cooking, reagents needed for alchemy.

It seems the changes worked at least. It's fun to see things changing. Happy to help with feedback. Thanks for everything!

    • RE: Change some base crafting items from merchants.

@echo Since the gem dust already stacks to ten, it wouldn't require a change to the 2da to actually implement that in the merchants right? That would just require a module change? I was very interested in having the gem dusts stacked in the store, as I said for quality of life.

      Thanks for responding!

    • RE: Change some base crafting items from merchants.

@echo said in Change some base crafting items from merchants.:

You cannot sell items in stacks from merchants. They only sell 1 at a time. I could add boxes of items like we have for oils and such....

      Ummm
I just made short swords stack size 10 in my own baseitems.2da and then made a new store in an almost empty module, set item stack size to 10, checked infinite, and it totally works. I could buy stacks of 10 short swords infinitely.
So I'm wondering what you meant by this part? Are we sure that it isn't possible to sell stacks of 10 gem dusts?

    • Change some base crafting items from merchants.

So as an example, salt is stackable to a number of 10 in one square of inventory, while sugar is not stackable, thereby taking up a huge amount of inventory space. I'd suggest making the sugar stackable as well. Makes sense to me with salt being stackable.

Another example, a great amount of the alchemy combinations require a number of the gem dusts, but they are only sold at stacks of 1. This could be made stacks of 10, greatly decreasing the total number of clicks and being an increase to quality of life.

I'd suggest going through all the craftings slowly, seeing what could be stacked. But those two examples right now are my suggestions.

    • RE: Wholeness of Body

Yeah I agree. I mostly don't use it. I don't like the idea of restoration since it is somewhat available, but I'm down with improving it in any way.

One of the top ideas I think I had was either a short term regeneration effect, or a simple increase to the monks total hp, either by buffing constitution with wholeness or just increasing the base die. Either way. Wholeness of body sounds like an increase to constitution to me at face value, and it would help to increase the monks hp if they are pure monk or something, making them better for what the usually do. If you base it off of stunning fist uses, that could be a temporary hp increase, which the monk can do multiple times per rest.

Well you know what I said before and I still believe it, but there are definitely other options as well.
There are not only the main ability buffs, but also a plethora of other buffs that it could be. This could include things like ghostly visage to represent a lesser tier of the higher than ten levels monk benefits. It could be freedom of movement or lesser mind blank. Could make the monk immune to all poisons. Could be death ward. Could be spell resistance spell.

Mass heal or healing circle might be an interesting thing considering undead around the monk could be damaged by it, or allies around the monk could also be healed. So like a burst heal.
It could also be based off of stunning fist uses. Shoot Aura vs alightment sounds pretty interesting too. Maybe undeaths eternal foe, though that might be too powerful. Or it could be the simple protection from alignment.

Can go down the arcane list too. Flame weapon. Displacement. Expeditious retreat, maybe short term haste at level 10. Ethereal visage. Shadow shield or spell mantle, etc.

An interesting idea would be negative energy protection, since the effect is something like making the body whole.

I kind of like either protection from alignment, or a buff to constitution like endurance. Might also be that short term druid 4 buff thing, ummm aura of vitality? Interesting.

Either way, I'd be happy for anything.

    • RE: Cooking- Cooking supplies merchant shoulkd be next to every oven

In Eveningstar there is a man in the market on the side near the tavern and the corn. In Historic district the first merchant out of the tavern sells some of the basic things like salt, sugar, bakers yeast etc. Haven't tried cooking in Bospir or Immersea yet so don't know there.

In essence I sort of agree with you, as the alchemy table is right next to the merchant in both tinkerers union and Eveningstar, but right now the merchants are there. But they are like half a map away. I do agree it would be nice to have a cooking merchant next to the ovens though.

However, it might be mitigated somewhat if there are changes made to some of the basic cooking items, such as allowing sugar to be stacked to 10 like salt, allowing bakers yeast to be stacked or to be collected in the boxes like honey and chicken. Something similar for butter stacking perhaps. This will be good as those materials are also used in a great amount of cooking combinations.

But yeah I'd support the merchant being moved closer if it ever is. There are a bit more ovens such as I think on the western path out of Arabel, some spare ovens around Immersea or on Eveningstar outskirts. Putting a merchant at every oven would be weird, but at the main ones in town maybe.

    • Fruity Harvest Pie materials

      Area name: NA / all
      Issue Location: All Bakers ovens
      Version 7487 according to announcements.
Time and date : 5:45 PM US EST, 3/5/2022

The cooking page says only 1 raspberry juice, while all ovens currently require 4 raspberry juices. This makes it 36 raspberries needed for a fruity harvest pie right now.

Also, I posted again on the previous fish fillet post but there was no answer. The arabellan trout sandwiches need to same fix as the mist fisher pies I think, as it doesn't seem to count the fish fillets when I try to make them.

      Thanks!

    • Monk Gloves price

They are now 11k and apparently it is supposed to be lower. It is at the pure monk store.
