Ok so this is a very random and "out there" suggestion but here goes.

Is there any way that it could be possible to view the actual mini map of an area when looking at the player made map while not actually being in the area? For example if I'm in immersea and want to decide which island to sail to, I could use the maps in my inventory to look at the mini maps to remember which island the lighthouse is on for example.

No idea how this would work logistically but it would be very cool to be able to do it but obviously work vs benefit would need to be considered.

      Cheers

It is not possible to open the map of a different area.
The only way to accomplish this would be by:

        1. Taking screenshots of all areas in the toolset to use them as the maps
        2. Service then via a scripted NUI window
        3. Support visible map pins on them too
        4. Every time we create a new map-able area we will need to remember taking a screenshot for it and have an hak update to support it

Not an easy effort to make and not easily scalable. It’s a question if this feature has immediate more value than others on our priority list.

@Strife-and-Discord yeah probably not worth the effort then.
