Verk/Adrian/Mossmere Apprentice or Promotion

Verk has improved vastly and done great, I'm thinking Dwight Mossmere could take him in as an apprentice. Dwight isn't a big gun in the family, in fact most of his elder siblings find him childish and wasteful of his talents. Which has been portrayed well by Hangman.

Verk can either help Dwight and himself rise in importance and influence in the magic world. Or he undermines Dwight to rise in his own station. But if he's too blatant obviously he risks losing the sponsorship.

Dwight is based in Immersea and an opening in the area which Adrian could use to help Cormaeril and/or Frankie. The Sembians wouldn't approve of two posh wizards in the area doing well after all. Maybe they would even give the Bhaalites a hint.

Or, Verk rejects the offer out of loyalty to the Crownguards earning himself a promotion and just Dwight as an associate ally to the Crownguards.

I agree, I've been a big proponent of Verk and his efforts with Adrian. I think he puts the effort in and lately thats definitely taken on more roleplay than vintage Verkism dungeon crawling.

I spoke with him a few weeks ago and gave him some pointers on how to advance where he'd like to, I suspect he'd jump at the opportunity to apprentice a Mossmere as his ultimate objective with the character is to earn that Special Position.

I'm running a bespoke Magic Assault Course for him on Friday with Dwight as his sponsor; it'd be a natural opportunity to invite him to apprentice if that's the way the vote is going. I could then send him back to the Crown to turn in his badge; where he'd be countered with a promotion and given 24hrs to make a decision (if he needs it).

Confirmation on letting him choose. People alright with my plan of:

• Host Wizard tournament. Dwight is impressed, offers him a position as his apprentice but he needs to resign from the Crown Guard.
• If/when he informs the Crown Guard they offer him a promotion to stay.

What does Verk get as an apprentice?

We never officially decided but for other special positions

• wage 50
• custom piece of gear like a staff but already has one and last I checked already has loot that is at the very top edge of what we want
• resting/private areas
• storage

As far as non mechanical perks

• he has the backing of an NPC (and inherits said NPC allies and rival which there are in House Mossmere
• id consider a bump/endorsement of his noble house to make it equal to Seter’s

NPC backing - Dwight Mossmere, minor support from Mossmere but since he is with Dwight first it isn't gonna be taken seriously at first
Noble house bump - I would say no, that can be earned later if he does well enough to go beyond the Apprentice stage
