Amadeus challenged Kural to a duel after Kural insulted the Arabellan nobility with his slurs. Against the odds, Amadeus emerged victorious.

Kural attempted to make Amadeus attack an unarmed Kural and later tried to provoke him by insulting Naida. After a long time of Kural not abiding to common rules of a duel, it wasn't until Amadeus called Kural a coward for his antics, Kural retaliated with a surprise attack. Despite being disarmed, Amadeus won, maybe cause Kural was too stingy to use a lesser restoration potion.

Upon hearing this, Lord Braerwinter was impressed and sent his approval to Amadeus. The Lord has now tasked Amadeus with a mission to demonstrate his loyalty to House Braerwinter, and his performance in this task will determine the Lord's judgement.

If the DM team agrees, and the task is fitting, the Lord would be willing to allow Amadeus to rise to Retainer, despite being a paladin.

Does this interfere at all with his oaths to Sune?

        Not currently as per: https://discord.com/channels/366755644256157698/1246890319081902120/1246977245512204379

        However, always a risk.

💯 absolutely not. A Paladin oath is incompatible with serving a local lord and while we kept it open with extremely rare, the likelihood I will ever vote yes to a Paladin in a noble house faction is extremely low.

Bannerman means he can be involved with the faction and influence it but retains some autonomy to keep the oath primary . Retainer means he does what the chaotic lord tells him to do and either gets kicked out or loses paladin powers in a conflict

I’ll add to the above, if the team feels like a reward for the pc is appropriate then let’s discuss that.

I am fine with forever Bannerman but a reward if he does well

Maybe have the Church approach him with an offer. Serve the lord or serve the church.

Not a bad idea, its not very present in Arabel but could offer the potential to grow if he dedicates himself towards it with that NPC sponsor instead.

Anyone object to a NPC sponsorship offer from a Sunite NPC, as an alternative to forever Bannerman? If he picks forever Bannerman, maybe I'll give him a fur cloak.

Much more appropriate for the pc.

Conf for sunite NPC offer, or a fur cloak for the forever bannerman

Orin chose Sune NPC sponsorship, left Braerwinter with honour. Got some bonuses to his current gear and a make over as a reward. Ran a little mini ceremony about it in public cause Sune ain't about being a quiet wallflower.

NPC prep done with help from @Prof-Misclick adding details asap
