As Spiffy is looking to retire Morrigan he has shared this app for his next PC. Just going to leave it here until he dies.

Application for Wererat Subrace: Frederick Greenwhistle

      Player Name: [Party Hard]
      Character Name: Frederick Greenwhistle
      Race: Human (Infected Wererat)
      Age: 28
      Class: Rogue (Social Skills Emphasis)
Deity: Loviatar and Sharess (as dual aspects of the same goddess)
Infection Trigger: Intense Physical Pain, or Prolonged Exposure to Rat Swarms
      Requested Subrace: Wererat (Infected Lycanthrope)
      **Alignment: **: Neutral Evil

      Character Summary

Frederick Greenwhistle was once a golden son of Cormyr’s merchant elite, heir to the Greenwhistle company, purveyors of grain, rations, and logistical goods to armies and noble courts. He was a darling of the ballroom and the boardroom, known for his silver tongue and talent for elevating clients through charm, networking, and persuasive deals.

But alliances are fragile, and the tides of power turn fast. A deal gone sour, a trap, likely, ended with Frederick thrown into a sunless pit teeming with rats. He was left there to suffer and rot. What emerged was not the same man.

He survived. He killed the rats. All of them.

But in doing so, something changed within him, the pain, the betrayal, the primal blood, it awakened his lycanthropy. Alone and delirious in the aftermath, he was found by a mysterious priestess of Loviatar, who called him “a blessed vessel of suffering.” She explained that the pain he endured was not random, it was refinement. His curse was no curse, but a gift. She taught him that Loviatar and Sharess are not enemies, but two reflections of the same truth: True ecstasy only blossoms from pain. Only those who suffer can savor joy.

Shar, he realized, was a lie. A trap. A masquerade of false promises, offering only entropy and void. He spat her name from his mouth and never looked back.

      Dual Persona

Human Form — The Charmer and Libertine

Frederick still moves among the elite. He hosts salons and feasts, sponsors rising artists, elevates adventurers, and whispers to nobles that they deserve more. He speaks of liberation, of shedding chains, of living for oneself. He believes in indulgence, in wine, love, beauty, but all of it earned through struggle. He cultivates joy like a vintner cultivates grapes: with cuts and pressure.

Wererat Form — The Thief of Meaning

When the change overtakes him, so does bitterness. The wererat within is vengeful, envious, and nihilistic, it remembers every smile that turned away, every hand that pulled away. It is obsessed with ruining those he once uplifted. He breaks into homes not just to steal, but to destroy hope. He hoards broken heirlooms and burned letters, souvenirs of collapse.

But even this cruelty is a lesson. In their ruin, he believes they will awaken. As he did.

      Character Goals

      1. Elevate and Refine Through Pleasure and Pain

        • Build relationships with PCs and NPCs, elevate them socially, emotionally, spiritually.
        • Then challenge them, tear down their illusions, betray or abandon them at their peak to provoke growth.
        • Force them to confront the reality that suffering is inevitable, and the key to true strength.
      2. Establish a Hidden Circle of the Unified Doctrine

        • Quietly found or seed a cult or circle that embraces the unity of Loviatar and Sharess.
        • Pose it as a philosophical or artistic movement: pleasure through pain, truth through contradiction.
        • Use it to target disillusioned nobles, priests, and thrill-seekers, people eager for meaning.
      3. Collect the Symbols of Lost Joy

        • In wererat form, steal symbols of beauty and accomplishment from those he’s “helped” love tokens, journals, heirlooms.
        • These trophies are not just loot, they are lessons, reminders of what comes before rebirth.
      4. Redeem the Curse

        • Seek mastery over his lycanthropy. Not a cure, but a purpose.
        • Train himself to transform with intention, not just rage or pain.
        • Teach others, perhaps even spread it, with consent or consequence, as a divine scourge.

Narrative Hooks for DMs and Players

      • Frederick plays both sides: sweet-talking nobles by day, sabotaging them by night.
      • Offers mentorship, gifts, and insight to players, only to turn the mirror on them at their worst.
      • Ties directly into broader theological or factional plots involving Loviatar, Sharess, and Shar.
      • Could function as a hidden antagonist, a secret benefactor, or a philosophical foil.
      • Connects directly to [INOWANNA’s character], whose arc parallels and intersects with his own.

          Bump, he's asking.

In the future, there are two simple rules to remember:

          NO SPITTING.

          DO NOT CROSS MISTER MOLOCH.
