The main reason why this is mentioned, is less to do with space issue(Though it would be a nice byproduct) but rather quality of life suggestion.

There are some recipes(I.E Bone Bolts) that require 5-10 bones and it would be far easier and simpler to drop them as a stack instead of singles.
