This is just going to be a giant thread for ideas I had for the monk while the motivation stays with me to brainstorm things. I gave absolutely no care to balance and will let the DMs handle that stuff. I mostly just slapped a bunch of stuff onto the items that I think matched their idea. I'm trying to focus on flavors and themes for monk items, and I'm trying to incorporate stuff that's more than the generic "Add more AC or damage." Some of these could be items good for any brawler, but generally are items only useable by pure monks, or even items I would personally like to have as DM loot.

      Name: Martial Blind-Fold
      Base item: Helmet
Bio: A simple piece of cloth wrapped around the head, usually used in order to blind the vision of the wearer. However, some martial orders around the world are known to use these blindfolds in order to train and enhance their other senses.
What: Bonus feat: Blindfight, Bonus Feat: Blindsense, Bonus feat: Uncanny dodge 1, -10 spot -10 search +10 listen
Notes: Ideally we could find a visual hak that actually shows a blindfold worn over the character's head.

Name: Braid of a hundred masters
      Base item: Amulet
Bio: Nothing more than a plait of hair to most, this specific style of braid can be found worn by many martial artists throughout various monastic orders. While they all look identical, those who practice similar traditions understand the correlation between the length of the braid, the time it takes to grow, and the experience one earns in that time.
What: Wisdom and/or Dex +2, Single use per day: Greater Owl's Wisdom, Single use per day: Greater Cat's Grace

      Name: Rice Hat
      Base item: Helmet
Bio: Hailing from lands far away, these simple 'Rice Hats' are made by weaving strands of straw or other similar materials together. They're great for staying dry when it rains, to keep the sun out of your eyes, or to even use as a basket in a pinch.
What: Spell immunity: Flare, Bonus vs Cold+1, Bonus vs Fire +1, Immunity Cold 5%, Immunity Fire 5%
Notes: Idk. Can be useful against all the low level mobs that like to spam the flare cantrip. I just think Rice hats are neat.

      Name: Meditation Beads
      Base Item: Amulet or Consumable
Bio: A group of beads strung together on a string. The exact material and design of these beads differ from order to order, but they all serve the same purpose. These beads are a tool used to meditate, calm, and refocus one's mind.
What: Bonus to Mind-Affecting +3, Once per day: Remove Fear, Once per day: Restoration, Once per day: Calm Emotions, Once per day: Mind Blank

Name: Gloves of the Weapon disciple
      Base Item: Gloves
Bio: A pair of gloves given to those martial disciples who have truly shown the devotion needed for mastery over their chosen weapon.
What: Weapon prof: Mace, Sickle, Spear, Dart, Battle axe, Light flail, Light hammer, Longbow, Longsword, Scimitar, Shortbow, Rapier, Shortsword, Throwing Axe, Trident, Warhammer. Bonus Feat: Weapon Focus: All the above, Bonus Feat: Weapon Spec: All the above.
Notes: Ideally you could somehow make this only apply to one specific weapon and allow the monk abilities to be used with said weapon, but heck if I know.

Name: Robes of the Iron One
      Base item: Robe(Clothing)
Bio: Legends tell of a long lost Ilmatari temple hidden away somewhere within the spine of the world that was one day besieged by a band of angry Aurilites. Long had the temple and it's inhabitants survived through the harsh winters, and never once did they leave offerings to the Frostmaiden. The Aurilites sent an ultimatum to the temple. "Leave tribute or succumb to Winter's grasp." A response was given.

"No matter how harshly the cold wind howls, the mountain cannot bow to it."

Furious, the Aurilites launched an assault against the temple early in the freezing morning, but were left bewildered as they broke open the doors. They did not find a temple of priests armed to the teeth with spells and enchantments, but rather an old, frail man. As the Aurilites moved to apprehend the aging man, they were suddenly met with a flurry of kicks and punches, sending several of them crashing to the ground. Whom they believed to be a feeble, weak pacifist, was actually the unyielding fury of a man who had suffered through the many trials of life, and had disciplined, trained, and honed his body for countless years.

Not until the sun had finally set would their long battle be done. The old man, his body pierced by countless arrows, half frozen by ice, and bruised beyond recognition, lay in the middle of the temple, surrounded by the corpses of more than half of the invaders. Though it was not his wounds that the unnamed Master fell to, but the exhaustion of his ailing heart. Whether true or not, this story is still shared among many to inspire them through the hardships of their training in hopes that they too can one day obtain such a level of physical enlightenment. These robes were made in honor of that unknown Martial Artist.
What: One use per day: Premonition, One use per day: Ethereal visage, One use per day: Greater Endurance

Scott Keellip - White Knight, killed by Drow
Sir William the Fearless - Fearless! and nice.
Vardix - Black Dragon cultist. Also killed by Drow.
Nihlos Carver - Fear the Reaper
Argun The Dawnhammer - Strongman of Lathander

I've been thinking about what sort of gameplay style could make the monk unique from other martial classes. Rogue's have sneak attack and skill points galore, paladins have smites and saves, clerics have long lasting buffing spells, barbarians have different styles of rage, and fighters have just a strong baseline ready to go at any given time.(And feats)

Monks really only have stunning fist. So! I think it would fit thematically, if the special unique trait for the monk class, was that they could unlock very powerful abilities, but for a short length of time. It very much has the feeling of "Channeling your energy and releasing it at the right time. Never waste it." and it also thematically compliments how monks train their natural bodies, and can unlock their potential to push their bodies above and beyond the normal limitations.

While other classes get long lasting, hour per level buffs, the monk buffs would last a much shorter time. Turn per monk level, or even round. But they would be stronger abilities. Instead of Blur, a monk could use ghostly visage or even premonition. Instead of an animal buff, monks could get the benefits of the greater versions. Instead of magic weapon or bless or aid or whatever else spells stack, monks can gain access to both divine favor and haste at the same time. Things that push the boundaries of their mortal body. Like they can "Go super Saiyan" but only for a small length of time.
