File: Further angellic summoning by Jazdia

@V-Rage
Sweet Bryce,
In the last twentyfour hours, I lost my dear friend, I charged Deadwell, I found a secret garden, saw two perfectly white stags, ran from a large bear, ran faster from two large lizards in the desert, spied on Tilverton, fought a druid, patrolled Bospir, recruited two adventurers, held a lottery with no winners, wrote a memorial on a hero and a villain, and saw a Selunite ritual being conducted. If that is enough enough to change ones mind on matters as trivial as whether Dawnlord Sunguard summoned an angellic creature, before or after she was raised in the clergy... Well I simply do not know what will.

For the last time, Bryce-
Arabel law does not apply inside Eveningstar. Stop your quibbling and whining and do something about it yourself if you insist. Beat her up or something, it's the only thing your bunch are good for.
- Clerk Robinson
-
Ahem,
What Clerk Robinson means to say is- it's frankly none of Arabel's business until it is.
Clerk Johnson
-
Another misguided attempt to drive a wedge between Kingdom of Arabel and the Bishopric of Eveningstar.
Your petulant attempts to sow discord and strife are worthy of an enemy of the state.Continue with this vendetta at your peril.
Councilor Valtyra Castemont
Bishopric of Eveningstar -
The summoning took place in Deadwell,
The report was a series of letters from a new recruit at the time.
I enclose the letters to prove this

I think I talk for all of the Oath when I say we don't want to hear of anyone summoning any form of outsider.
I talk for myself in that I might tolerate brief vists in extreme siterations if it helps maintain the Balance in the bigger picture.
I will warn that some of the Oath are very inclinded to consider the summoner of an outsider, to be fair grounds to cull the summoner.
For the sake of peace in this region, can we -not- go around summoning angels please.
Soppi of the Redwood

As the Councilor who has initiated this has been called to a Peer Review, this matter must be placed on hold.
I certainly hope that those of the Oath are not suggesting that a Dawnlord of the Church would be a subject for culling. I will accept that there are generalities that must be spoken of when dealing with situations.
Councilor Valtyra Castemonte
Bishopric of Eveningstar -
I'm rather angry and concerned that outsiders are being summoned. I am also a halfling who favours the aspect of the Green Mother Shelia in her drudic duties... so my solution of choice is to talk it out and push things towards Balance and good sense.
However if this continues, other more violent members of the Oath are going find out and then decided to stop the angel summoning by dropping large animals and lightning bolts on her head. They won't care about her title, they'll just see another arrogant city dweller playing around with forces she shouldn't.
And you know, I rather that not happen. Because I have to clean up the mess afterwards however it goes.

And while we contest among ourselves, enemies of the people are left to surround us. There are creatures who would see the promise of the realm snuffed out.
Each of us has personal views and truths they hold but is the purpose of this council not to find common cause? Are we not to put aside everything to defend the people?
Violence will cause more violence. Lightning bolts will bring Flames from the Heavens. Animals being driven to act outside their natural state will only turn more of the people against the wild spaces.
I implore this council to cease needless posturing and seek a common good for the people and the land.
Councilor Valtyra Castemont,
Bishopric of Eveningstar -
Councilor Bryce,
This information isn’t even correct outside the accusation of angelic summoning, who wrote this? The clover rooster can be verified by asking Levi Drago, Brother Shadow is purely a Precept member, honestly a woefully embarrassing account on all fronts.
-Blood Dragon, Naresh Sabzvari

It was written by Clark.
Bryce
-
Yet shown to the class by you councilor, did you not at least read this prior or gods forbid, check with other sources? If anything else this does set the bar for what we are to expect from the Greywatch.
-Blood Dragon, Naresh Sabzvari.

I see, the laws of eveningstar apply to people from Arabel in their lands, but not the other way around.
Yes, how knightly, and honourous. I am truly bewildered, I may faint.
-A Clerk.
-
Ah yes, what a great and holy person, hiding your name so that it not shock anyone with it's beauty. (Or get you sacked for putting down the people the Queen recently said were essential as an alliance so best not mess with them)
-Clerk Pinwell

The regular temporary summoning of outsiders through the use of common and conventional conjurations is perfectly safe and in no way threatens the Veil.
The danger lies, or lied in this case, in the untrained and inexperienced casting of a far more complex Gateway spell. Such spells are massively complex, normally only attempted by the most experienced mages and most gifted priests. The spell opens a hole in the Veil that allow outsiders and the like to step through in a more permanent fashion, unlike the temporary summoning done by more conventional means. Eveningstar was incredibly lucky that no permanent damage was done in the attempt, but as I mentioned in my report there does not appear to be any lasting damage from the attempt.
So long as this type of event does not happen again I see no reason to become alarmed in the slightest.

Summoning beings from the higher and lower planes is still illegal under Arabellian law which covers Bospir and Deadwell.
Regardless Calatha has convinced me to drop the matter for now as there are other more pressing matters to deal with.
Bryce
-
The reason their majesties outlawed the summoning of beings from the outer planes is that they are generally hostile, and logically implacable in their views toward good, evil, chaos, and law. They cannot, will not, and won't ever, compromise, and will sooner create an environment of totality for which they shall dwell.
The summoning of such beings, inevitably, draws the attention of others of their kind. And some ill-advised moron will coax more of their attention, and cause mayhem and havoc. Take, for instance, the Slaad issues that have spawned in the Hullack wood. His majesty is most concerned about this affair, as the Spirits have informed him of the growing threat. Slaad plant their eggs inside of animals and reproduce thusly. You do not need a complex summoning ritual to cause a slaad plague.
As for angels, they will slaughter and 'punish' innocent and harmless commonfolk for failing to do 'good,' they will spill mountains of blood of folk who will try and stop them from performing their so called 'holy' judgment. His majesty, rightfully and wisely, prohibits these 'angelic' creatures from his city.
If the Eveningstar wish to tamper with inhuman creatures possessing alien thought in their borders and risk their subjects thusly- that is on them, and all blood spilled will be on their hands. His majesty wishes to remind the Church that this is his domain, and any such creatures summoned outside their borders will be met with his displeasure.

Jadzia, do we have your oath that there will be no more angel summoning?
Soppi of the Redwood
-
No I will not give you such an oath druid. I will promise in the light of Lathander there will not be another attempt at a gate spell unless there is no alternative. I can only speak the truth. As for the messengers Lathander has blessed me with to aid in our fight against evil you will have no such promise.
Dawnlord Jadzia Sunguard

So be it. There more than the way of words to keep Balance.
