    Who was the caster?
    What buffs were they?

        potions and items too.
lost magic weapon from an item after less than a minute.
Lost barkskin from an item less than a minute
        lost barkskin from potion
        lost strength from potion
        lost endurance from item
lost whatever unfie cast on me in about a minute

This happens with buffs, potions, and magical items.

It doesn't seem to discriminate based on source. @Puffy

I have no idea, seems like a time-issue more than anything else. I'll try to figure out.

May be that an area is missing the on enter and on exit script

Found a few XZOA areas with missing enter/exit scripts. May or may not resolve the problem.

                            @Bowser said in Buffs vanishing:

                            Area name: Everywhere
                            Issue Location: Anywhere

Did some testing IG tonight and I was unable to recreate this bug. So.... I need to know:

                            1. Is this happening on quest when no dms are around?
                            2. Is it only when there is a dm around?
                            3. Is it happening with a certain monster that is spawning?
                            4. Is it only happening on DM events or is it also happening on scripted quests?

This happened again today in the same DM quest area that Bowser was mentioning before. So it seems related to the area. Caves: ZQA I think? Buffs instantly disappeared about 5-10 minutes in. This was a DM event of course

this cold one isn't going to crack itself boys

Please let us know as much details of what is happening on the event when this happens.

                                • What monsters are being spawned
                                • effects used
                                • spells you are casting (especially hak ones or altered nwn ones)
                                • are you being suddenly healed as well as losing your buffs?
                                • Keep an eye on the compass for time and date on dm events, and if there is suddenly a time jump there, note it down.
                                • any particular section of an area?

The more data we have, the more details we have, the more likely the Admins are to find what is doing this.

Thank you for your help and patience.

I updated all the XZOA areas tonight. Some were missing variables, some had incorrect variables. I dont know if the variables affect spells at all but it was a needed fix one way or the other. After v6536 uploads, let me know if this persists.

After several tests all I can determine is:

There is no specific DM present (though people tend to notice it during Middy's events, but that is correlation not causation)
                                    There is no specific area
There is no specific buff disappearing
There are no specific spells being cast at the moment
Not everyone loses buffs at the same moment
                                    Not everyone loses buffs (?)

This happened to me today, April 17 2020 at around 11am in Arabel: Sewers during a @StrawMan event. I'm not sure exactly what triggered it, but I have a feeling it may have been from Strawman's DM avatar. Rested at the inn, and everything seemed okay. Got a port back to Underground: Lower Passages and the bug returned. These seems to be RemoveEffect() related, to me.

                                        • Timestamp it happened on: April 17, 2020 11am EST

                                        • Exact Area: Arabel: Sewers; Undergound: Lower Passages. Did not occur after rest in Faceless Inn. Immediately reappeared upon return to Underground: Lower Passages.

                                        • Screenshot of your location in the area itself: Unable to Provide

                                        • Was it during a DM event: Yes

                                        • What buff went missing?: Everything that was casted, up to and including shield, protection from evil, mage armor, ghostly visage, bull's, endurance, barkskin, aura of shadow (custom), wall of smoke (custom). Weapon effect itemproperties seemed unaffected.

                                        • Who was with you in the party at the time? Francis Devalle, Tarlee Dawnshield, Martina Takihashi, Danat Ashby, Moraine (Something), DM Strawman

                                        • What action you did or what happened right before the buffs vanished: Cast them. Not to be pedantic, the removal was fairly immediate. I had Strawman port me to Faceless, I cast Wall of Smoke, then rested. The bug went away, having timed it for about ten minutes. Then, after it appeared to be fixed, I had him port me back to the DM quest location where the bug reappeared immediately.
