The Sporophore Circle of the Helmlands
-
I am using this discussion document to detail and explore further the cult of the Helmlands.
I do not expect everyone to accept fully or embrace it with haste. As Sylvela herself sid, that would be very suspicious.
They reside in a hard to acesss area of the Helmlands inside a gigantic Mushroom Tower on a hill.
Members of Note:
The Sporophore Witch, AKA, Sylvela, human, druid
The Sporelord Supreme, gnome arcanist (maybe)
Petal Two-Flower, half orc, rangerThose are the people I had contact the most.
They act friendly and are open to strangers and hugs. You could try to find them in the Helmlands if you do patrol the place enough to gain their trust.
They are a very bonded group, that value being together and being safe a lot.
Goals:
- Birth a spore of the Araumycos into the Helmlands and strenghten it to be a guardian, protector and shield of the lands.
The Araumycos is a sentient fugus that sprawls for miles deep underground below the King's Forest. An entity of great power, wisdom and knowledge. A spawn of the Araumycos would be a fierce and powerful ally of all in wathever events yet to come, not only the Azure Flame.
The newly born fungal entity would then help combat the corrupt curse of th Helmlands. The place probably will never be the same, but can be better free of the corruption. Giving possibility of new life to grow and florish.
Secondary objectives:
-
In order to make the Helmlands a safer enviroment for the spore to be born the Umber Hulks must be dealt with. It is known they have some nexus of control that is changing their behaviour and then two actions could be done in order. Find this Nexus and take control ourselves or bring a living Umber Hulk so the Sporelord can study it.

Get access to the gigantic magical crystal buried deep in the Helmlands. It is of unkown origin, has positive energy properties, is close to the deathplace of Mystra, is being affected by the Azure Flame's awakening and the Umber Hulks are being drawn to it.
What it all means is mostly for speculation, but one could get some ideas. As was told to me, the only way to be sure is to go there in site and scry it.
The crystal could be used to imprint someone's mind into the newborn Araumycos, making it a respository of knowledge, the act is still debated, though.
Well, these are the information and facts I can affirm about the Araumycos Cult. They do not have a name so far.

Note: Helmlands mushrooms have been mentioned within Justiciar 'exploration and clarification of contraband' discussions. I'm fast tracking writing a report to try and provide evidence of beneficial forces at work in healing the Helmlands.
