Wouldn’t it be easier to just have them paid directly to a PC rather than have to go and speak to an NPC to get them?

Well, the NPC tracks your time, and nothing says you "must" grab wages every hour, you can let it accrue.

I just don’t know why you need to bother! Worked the other way with the Guards in V3.

Guessing the shear number of ways to get a wage, using the NPC probably makes it easier.

Nah go get your wages from your boss.

System works fine and one of the reasons we went this way was so faction players could save up gold that was safe as a perk.
