Cloudkill Killing Elemtnals?

NPC Location: NAAt the request of Professor, I'm posting this as more of a question than a bug report necessarily. A PC laid down a cloudkill spell and my Huge Earth Elemental (4HD) went through it and died. Not sure if intentional, I don't usually think 'breathing creature' with elementals in general, but from a purely power point of view the idea of wizards being terrifying engines of destruction is something I'm always partial to.
Just something to ponder on, wasn't sure if it was a bug or intentional. Have a good day.

Air Elementals likley should be immune to the litany of Cloud based spells that have a physical effect. So Cloudkill and Stinking Cloud etc. The other Elemental types likely should have some additional thematic resistances.
Consider Cloudkill not a matter of inhaling it to be effective, rather the toxic, corrosive, damaging, overwhelming, stressful, and magic properties associated with it a create the effects. This is not really a bug as it is working but I'll move it to Suggestions and we might review it later along with some other subrace house keeping.

Laurie has penetration, greater penetration, necro focus, defense and greater focus that may have made a difference I dont know but its hard to resist her necromantic spells.

SF/GSF impact the save (fort, ref, wil) or subsave like against death or mindaffecting
SP/GSP help overcome any spell resistance a creature may have.
d20 + caster level + spell penetration vs. SRCloudkill is also Conjuration so Necromancy would not be relevant. I would have to verify but Elementals do not have any SR so Spell Penetration etc would have no effect.
