      First off, I love that there's a soloable quest in my level range. I found it on accident while mapping! It's in an inconvenient location, considering the number of orcs and goblins I had to fight to get to it, but that's a different story.

      Pros:

      • soloable at 6+
      • nice layout

      Cons:

      • Dire Spiders in a group of 6 with their DC: 26 poison
      • Bandit Trackers and Wardens also have poison (arrows) (DC14 Con & Str drain) and spawn in groups up to 8
      • Boss has On-Hit Daze, High AC, and a lot of HP, and is surrounded by lots of help
      • Terrible payout for material demands

      Blur 1
      CSW (32 charges)
      CMW (17 charges)
      Stoneskin (2 potions
      PfE (2 potions)
      Ironguts (3 potions)
      Lesser Restoration (1 potion)
      Invis (2 charges from boots)
      Cure Crits (1 charge from heroic mark)
      Restoration (2 charges from gloves)
      Blood Frenzy (1 charge from item)
      Strength (1 charge from item)
      Divine Favor (2 potions)
      Summon Creature III Scroll (found on quest)
      all 4 rage uses

      Rewards

      250 gold from questgiver
      3 treasure maps
      Wand of Cure Serious Wounds
      Crushing Bolts (20)
      Scroll: Melf's Acid Arrow
      Scroll: Negative Energy Burst
      Scroll: Summon Creature III (used in the fight)
      Wand of Cure Moderate Wounds (2)

      I think maybe this was intended for a group and then got changed to soloable? This does not seem like a quest intended for soloing, considering the ridiculous number of creatures using poison.

      Overall Score: 4/10 wont do again without a group, and a supply of restorations

        All 6-9 quests are solo-able :) This was a recent change, but most quests are built with a group in mind. So it is solo at your own risk.

        Incidentally going to look into the poisons and bosses, seems a bit ridiculous. Thanks for the review!

            Redid quest today, solo again:

            Notes:

            • The spider group did not swarm me and I managed to get past without having to fight them, which was better than last time. They swarmed me as I was fighting the bandits.
            • I did see there were different spiders other than just dires, which may have been a good thing. (Saw 1 dire and 1 sword, did not get close enough to see the others)
            • The boss was still a challenge but was not nearly as horrendous as before.
            • I did not run around the first area looking for all the bandits this time so I may have missed a group.

            Materials Used:

            17 CSW charges
            3 Barkskin potions
            2 cats grace potion
            bulls strength potion
            2 endure elements potions
            2 blur potions
            2 healing kit +1
            iron guts potion
            Bulls strength (2 charge from item)
            Restoration (1 charges from gloves)
            Blood Frenzy (1 charge from item)
            Potion of Bravery
            potion of Protection From Evil

            Rewards:

            scroll of lesser dispel
            scroll of knock
            2 scrolls of sanctuary
            20 arrows "plain"

            End XP: 250
            End GP: 250

            Overall Score: 8/10
            I think the end gold reward should be higher, to make it worth the expenditures, but overall much improved experience with this quest.
