These fuckers carry poison and disease, will always hit you at least once to spread the disease, poison ridden love around and they are Abso-fucking-lutely everywhere. TThey are a menace and the surest way to kill fun for all the poison they carry and your apparent insistence on making everything require small mountains of gold to buy.

That said, I believe the CARES spawns are random. You are as likely to get fawns as snakes.

Ironguts doesn't help against disease, which unlike poison won't naturally leave a character without use of antidote or remove disease.
