The Spread of Azure Diamonds

Starting next reset and lasting until the end of September (we'll provide a concrete ending date as we near it), a new DMless event will take place across Arabel. Amid the Storm’s fury, the Beast’s relentless advance, and the reemergence of Zerelstria, strange crystalline fragments—Azure Diamonds—continue their spread across the region. As they do, multiple groups publicly campaign for their collection and donation, each with their own motives, methods, and rewards—should they claim victory.

How it works

Azure Diamonds will increasingly appear throughout the server—hidden in caches, as quest rewards, during DM events, and more. Four groups are openly calling for their collection, each with distinct goals. At the event’s end, the group with the highest number of donated diamonds will be declared the winner, granting the server a lasting boon (details below).

Even if your chosen group doesn’t win, the DM team will track donations and reward players who push creative plots and ideas throughout the month.

Those seeking Azure Diamonds -- Their Agenda & Reward

The Pyre and the Rogue Creator -- The Rogue Creator has constructed a Diamond Filtering Device near the Pyre, designed to extract the diamonds’ innate arcane potential and cleanse it of the Azure Flame’s influence.

If the Pyre wins (NOTE: This is separate from the monthly prestige requirement to keep the Pyre running):

The Azure Flame’s presence within the Pyre will be purged, along with all lingering side effects. The Pyre will overcharge temporarily, revealing a lost area once hidden by the Storm—complete with a new story arc, DM events, and potential dungeon.

Azure Diamonds can be submitted to the Diamond Filtering Device near the Pyre. Speak with COMM-7X-AZ nearby if you have any questions.

The Council of True Faiths -- The orthodoxy in Bospir has blessed a makeshift shrine dedicated to cleansing Azure Diamonds, viewing them as heretical abominations against the Gods.

If the Council wins:

A new, permanent shrine will be established in Bospir honoring the Gods and their churches. During the event, players may promote specific deities or pantheons to be represented in the final shrine. A shrine NPC will offer various Cleric buffs to players for a small fee. Your very own NPC buffbot.

Azure Diamonds can be given to the Blessed Shrine in Bospir for holy purification. Speak with the nearby Priest for questions.

The Twisted Coin and the Diamonturges -- This eccentric collective of craftsmen and alchemists has set up shop in the Twisted Coin. Through secret techniques, they claim to siphon the diamonds’ magic into usable trinkets—without the Azure Flame’s dangers (or so they say).

If the Diamonturges win:

A new store will appear within the Twisted Coin, offering several new consumables with potent, high CL spell charges.

Azure Diamonds can be donated to the Diamonturge Donation Crate inside the Twisted Coin, supervised by a nearby Diamonturge.

Zerelstria, the Icedawn -- Once a dire threat to Arabel, the Ice Witch returns under a flag of parlay. With a growing following of mostly commoners, she urges that donating Azure Diamonds to her will defend, not harm, the city.

If Zerelstria wins:

The Azure Flame will take root within the Pyre, bolstering its power to hold back the Storm and weakening the Beast and his dragonkin minions. Zerelstria will grant pact-boons to her contributors—no hidden catches; your part of the bargain is already fulfilled.

Azure Diamonds can be sacrificed to Zerelstria at the altar north of the city along the Moonsea Ride, where a mighty Azurespawn once fell. No NPCs present—we know you’d just try to kill them.

None of these groups or goals tickle your fancy?
Rumor has it one of Elhazir’s daughters is buying diamonds for gold at his shop in the Noble District.

Not interested in gold either?
Azure Diamonds now feature a “break in case of emergency” spell effect—perfect for sending an enemy (or Orin) straight to the Fugue.

Not interested in groups, gold, or one-use powerful spells?
Use them to bribe other characters! Auction them! Or throw a festival to Trom and reward the justiciest justicers who ever justiced with diamonds for their devotion.

As always, if you come across any bugs or exploits, please report them to the team through the proper channels. Likewise, keep the feedback coming throughout the event—if it's a success, we're more than happy to implement more iterations with even bigger outcomes!
