Hi CoA community, the DM team has been working hard to make CoA the best place it can possibly be. We wanted to share an update on the work that has been done over the past few months. I believe that the server is in a great place where we are working hard to implement features that players and DMs have been asking for and putting the server in the right direction for the future.
Player Feedback
A survey was done over the past few months to collect input from active and inactive players, we want to make sure that what players want and DMs are working on are aligned. You can see the results of the survey here: https://forums.cityofarabel.com/topic/69278/2025-player-survey-results/13
Content Bloat
You may have noticed over the past few months some areas being revamped/rebuilt/deleted. We wanted to reduce the distance to go from point A to point B. Now quests are closer together in different areas so when you go to different parts of the server things are more compact and easier to move around. We want players to be able to reach all different corners of the server from the hub in just a few areas
Impact on the Server
Our new Pyre system allows players to have an impact on the server. On a monthly basis players have a prestige target in the pyre. After hitting this target it revealed the new Rhimebound city with fun new things to explore, watch out if you don't hit the target there may be negative impacts on the environment as well!
Epic Bounty Creatures
Players wanted to have a system where random generated bounty creatures are spawned somewhere in the server, bring a party to go out to fight these dangerous beasts. In the coming weeks more epic bounty creatures will spawn with new rewards and risks.
Azure Diamond caches
Our new Azure Diamond monthly trial system, See here: Azure Diamonds Players have the chance to collect diamonds hidden around the server and put it towards a cause that is important to their character.
Spell Changes
We want to keep things fresh and ensure players have a reason to use other spells, we have made quite some changes to some underused spells. Feel free to make suggestions here see here underwhelming spells
Quest changes
Players have asked to bring back old quests from V4. We have begun to start implementing some fan favourites like Swamp Barbarians! We plan to continue to bring back some of these quests and adapt them to the new CoA. Current quests have been revamped to keep them fresh and introducing new puzzles and optional challenges for those who want a bit more!
End game xp
Any additional experience gained above the XP cap will be converted to prestige points. This way you still gain benefits when you are above the xp cap!
