As a paladin of tempus he was made aware of the faction multiple times since his arrival to the city and has been eyeing it ever since and with the recent of the palace destruction him seeing the panic has really pushed him to join, and a few other PCS recommending it to him a a few times
The doctrine they have about securing the area and the city is what speaks to him, and seeing all those people split ways to approach the problems differently has made it where he would like to take a more formal stance

With the recent issue with someone offering part of their soul to reinforce the tree wards and finding the fiend in the stonelands collecting souls, he is starting to believe for a more unified and stricter approach to handle these issues
