Palace staff speak of a group of royal guards moving to the Twelve Council chambers in the early morning. They move quickly to secure the records and after a large lock is placed on the door. Some tales have the guard needing to forcibly restrain an enraged Saga, but most scoff at the thought of the icy Saga succumbing to rage or any of the guards surviving if she resisted. Others speak of a noble dressed in finery of the Crown Guard, ornate cane in hand smirking as the Royal Guard move about their tasks.

As the word spreads, many wonder about the future. How could the dream of Gondegal die? How could the work of the beloved heroine Jastyne Vaylan be cast away.? What of the voices of the common people that so many of the Council once heard? How can the brave efforts and sacrifices of Councilors against the White Horde and other threats be so casually dismissed?

And the chilling thought, though only spoken in quietest of a whisper, to whom do they now turn as those with wealth, privilege, and title press boot ever harder on the throat of the small folk.....
