The Plague of the Murrain
-
Treason is treason Pirere. The Duke does not have authority to protect foes of the King.
Toussaint
-
Will the lot of you kindly stop spouting the word treason without knowing what it means.
Considering Charisbonde and Arianna can't be charged with treason for provoking and declaring war upon my Duke against the wishes of the King then what the Murrain have done isn't treason either.
Pierre of the Black Chalice
-
The law:
-Treason- The Act of Aiding the Enemies of Arabel, and its Leader, or its People. Concealing the actions of foreign agents, their locations, or otherwise siding with opposing national powers over Kingdom of Arabel.
Our orders:
Give them one week to turn themselves in. Any members of the Murrain are to foreswear their allegiance to their 'plague.'
Otherwise, kill them like rabid dogs.
King Matrim Goldfeather
Are you planning a self imposed exile to protect the people who just did the biggest magic attack on the city since the White Witch?
Rethink your actions before you start a war or get yourself hanged Pierre.
Toussaint
-
To be clear...
Pierre is acting on his Grace's wishes. If anything, any fault lies with his Master.
Arianna -is- responsible for a few attacks on his lands, it is a fair trade...
Clerk Robinson
-
Nobody plague cultists versus the priestess of the most powerful religion in Arabel.
Did you lose some bets recently, Robinson?
Clerk Johnson
-
I am just pointing out objectively, Arianna is on the record for sponsoring bandit attacks on his Grace's lands.
Well, "Bandits."
Robinson
-
A far cry from creating a miasma that spread illness and terror, Robinson.
My poor boy has a cough and it won't go away now.
Johnson
-
For the last time, Johnson.
It's my boy.
Robinson
-
Let's not shoot the messenger. Telling Pierre what we think is or isn't correct doesn't matter. The King has already delivered his message, so all we have to do now is wait for the week to expire. Once it has, we can move on from there depending on how the situation has developed.
-DawnHammer Argun the Strong
-
We can set things in stone if we reach the weeks end with no movement, but I feel banning Ravens from entering the city or removing there legal protections from assault and murder laws while they continue to harbor state enermies is on the table.
Toussaint.
-
Shall we remove councillors legal protections for those that harbour Redlocke. The Murrain for Redlocke is a fair trade
It seems being humiliated in front of the king and losing an arm taught you nothing Toussaint.
Go home to your wife and drop your crusade
Pierre of the Black Chalice
-
No one stopping you doing that in Tilveton, but I feel you and your men will feel the hurt far more from being unable to rely on the protection of the law on the Kings land than visversa.
Amusingly that will put your men into a similar boat to tieflings and the like.
Toussaint
-
Toussaint, you have a problem with some of my brothers and sisters, or do you simply throw the name of the tiefling bloodline around like it is some insult?
There is nothing more to be argued on this matter. It is very simple.
The Murrain is to be hunted down and killed like "rabid dogs" per the King's orders.
They have a week to turn themselves in. We all know the one know as Old Jim is responsible, so that one can most definitely held accountable. If the rest of them do not wish be be dragged in this mess like him, they will leave the Murrain behind.Convince them to do so.
Y.
-
I mean no offence Bloodhound, I merely wish to compare to how in many lands tieflings, dragonbloods and many others of complicated bloodlines are often treated second class in law, or given no legal protection at all.
And removing legal protections from the Raven’s seems a measured way of punishing them for protecting the Murrain. The Murrain remain outlaws in the King lands and the Ravens, while not outright banned, know that entering the Kings lands means they can be struck down and killed with no legal consequence.
With this change I feel the Ravens will consider the loss in there freedom to operate safely just not worth protecting the Murrain and cease this folly.
Of course this legal change would only go live at the weeks end if Pierre interference ensure the Murrain went over the King's deadline.
Toussaint
-
You make demands but offer us nothing in return.
Not even a guarantee the courts will prevent this Bloody Baker attacking our lands again, This is twice she has given church backing to those who have worked against the Duke, First Grete after the Caravan Attack and then Kincaid the Traitor.
Perhaps try negioating instead of barking demands Toussaint,
Pierre of the Black Chalice
-
We could trade Pierre.
-DawnHammer Argun the Strong

This debate is pointless.
Their crimes were committed before they swore fealty to Tilverton, thus are not covered by their convenient citizenship.
They have one week to turn themselves in. After that, the Murrain are to be hunted down.

Adam Whitlock called one of the council to discuss. He is now an Official of the Church of Talona from Tilverton. He claims the plague was an unfortunate event they were attempting to stop, that Slurg sacrifice himself for it, but ultimately their attempt failed. Adam will be taking his seat at the council soon, being an official recognized by a Church of the Country of Arabel, in Tilverton.
Pierre, you damned moron, why did you not lead with this in the beginning?
Ydira
-
If this is true, then I shall resign in protest. I was willing to work with Pierre even after his repeated thuggery, but I will not sit with someone that murdered a friend. Till there is justice for Meg, this council is a farce.
Elora
-
Councilor Ydira, does this mean you had the chance to speak with Adam? And if so, has he sworn off his allegiance with the Murrain?
