Word spreads fast of numerous bandits in varied colors and sigils banding together to turn profit on the road North. Some caravans which depart Arabel for Tilverton, and from Tilverton for Arabel are reported to disappear into the vast sands entirely consumed by some ancient wrathful god. The Sandlords, they rumors say, have risen.
Prices are rising as the risk of moving products north rises, a 'Travel Tax' the increase has been aptly named, as some merchants reportedly pay the price of coin in leu of facing the wrath of the desert.
