To the Esteemed Leadership of the Lunar Templars,

I humbly submit the following observations and request for your consideration.

Over the past tendays, I have had occasion to witness several events surrounding the meteorites that fell into the Wyvernwater. I was present during the initial falls upon the islands and have since participated in efforts to investigate the effects these objects have had upon the region.

I believe the matter warrants the attention of the Order.

The stones recovered from these incidents have demonstrated properties unlike any ordinary meteorite known to me. Most recently, a fragment washed ashore upon one of the islands of the Wyvernwater. Though separated from the larger mass, the fragment remained active. It appeared capable of continued growth and exhibited a corrupting influence upon its surroundings.

The effects of this corruption are not merely theoretical.

Mutated wildlife has been encountered throughout affected areas. The recent fishing competition in Immersea was notably disrupted by unnatural aquatic creatures believed to originate from beneath the waters of the Wyvernwater. More troubling still, I have personally witnessed aberrant creatures associated with these stones.

Gricks, hook horrors, and other unnatural beings have appeared in proximity to meteor fragments. Their emergence coincided with the strange radiance emitted by the stones themselves. Whether these creatures are created, altered, or merely drawn to the influence of the fragments, I cannot yet say. I can attest only that their appearance has been observed firsthand.

Nor do these events appear isolated.

Reports continue to emerge of increasing activity beneath the waters of the Wyvernwater. Pirates and sea trolls have established a growing presence there, and evidence suggests the formation of a cult devoted to whatever influence now resides below. While the nature of that influence remains uncertain, its effects upon the surrounding region are becoming increasingly difficult to dismiss.

Of particular concern is the possibility that the source meteorite remains intact beneath the lake.

The fragment recently recovered was active despite having become separated from the larger body. If such fragments are capable of breaking away and washing ashore, it follows that additional pieces may already be scattered throughout the Wyvernwater and beyond. Each fragment recovered thus far has demonstrated the same troubling characteristics: regeneration, corruption, and association with aberrant phenomena.

Should this process continue unchecked, the source of the problem may not remain confined to a single impact site.

I do not presume to know whether these events stem from a foreign Tear, an extraplanar influence, or some other force entirely. Such determinations are best left to those wiser and more learned than myself.

I do believe, however, that sufficient cause exists for a dedicated expedition.

To that end, I respectfully petition the Order to consider sponsoring an expedition to the Wyvernwater with the following aims:

      • To locate the primary meteorite believed to rest beneath the lake.
      • To determine the nature and origin of the meteorites and their fragments.
      • To assess the extent of any corruption already present within the region.
      • To recover or secure additional fragments before they can spread further influence.
      • To investigate the growing presence of pirates, sea trolls, and cultists operating beneath the waters.
      • To determine whether a greater threat remains dormant at the source of the impact.

I place these observations before my superiors with due humility and leave the final judgment to their wisdom.

Yet having witnessed these events myself, I would be remiss were I not to bring them to the attention of the Order.

The stones remain active. Their corruption spreads. Aberrant creatures have been encountered in their wake. Fragments continue to be recovered far from their original impact sites.

For these reasons, I respectfully petition the Lunar Templars to sponsor an expedition into the Wyvernwater to discover the source of this threat and determine what measures may be required to contain it.

Should such an expedition be sanctioned, I would gladly offer my service to it and provide a full accounting of my experiences to any knight, scholar, or prelate appointed to the task.

      Walk in the Light,

      Jacia Adams
Novice Knight of the Lunar Templars
