Every rat an ill omen

With word of lycanthropy, rats and plague continuing to spread, the people are quick to think back on the not so distant past. When twisted beasts stalked the sewers and dark places of the city, spreading their foul disease in the name of some strange rat god.

As a result the city sees an increase in the number of cats to counter the most common carriers of pestilence. Merchants take the opportunity to sell their silver wares at higher prices, and collections of ''miracle cures'' become a common thing for charlatans to try and pawn off to the ignorant masses.

Meanwhile the peasantry and those who cannot afford the bottled miracles of priests pray harder to the Mother of all Plagues, hoping to be spared her wrath.
